Wait until you hear about free software.
Free software is nothing gnu
What’s the difference between FOSS and free software?

This conjures images of spam 😂
It’s interesting how the mind assigns little value to free things. Slap a price on it and all of a sudden it’s valued higher.
Free software think of freedom software

Free as in freedom 👈😎👈
💯
The term freedom has sadly been politicized and automatically associated with the right.
Yes. And like it or not, the government does play a positive role in protecting our freedoms.
Do they tho?
Yeah you’re right. It would’ve been better to just let the Jan 6 rioters hang Mike Pence outside the Capitol
Not American so your riot is pretty insignificant to me but ok your gov is protecting your freedom 👍 enjoy
Will do
Good luck with your country’s situation. I assumed American because of Tupac 😉
I’m not sure 2Pac would agree that your government protects all its citizens freedoms if you listen to his music 😉
Agreed it’s not perfect. Lots of problems. Especially with police and the court system. But the idea a lot of folks have here that our govt is just pure evil is very tiresome and conspiracy minded
Gov is a necessary evil, lots of taxation, heavy focus on programs that do nothing that are taxpayer funded, crony capitalism fueled by pacs and back room deals, nepotism in hiring to high paying positions in billion dollar corporations. The corruption is endless, being critical of your ruling system is not only a good thing, but necessary to keep tabs on something easily corrupted.
Yeah those paved roads and bridges that don’t crumble sure are a travesty
New flash governments don’t build roads or bridges
Maybe not in your country? In good ole US of A, they very much do. Sorry to disappoint!
Nope private contractors build them. Sorry bud.
Paying someone to build your house is not the same as building your house.
Um. Who pays the contractors? And where does the money come from? Yeah…
The point is, without a functioning government that has the authority to tax its citizenry, public infrastructure wouldn’t exist, because of the way incentives work
How much does it cost to maintain a bridge? Why is it that every government contract grossly over pays for shit-tier work while the private sector comes in under-budget with better, nicer, more upscale results? Walk into any DMV and tell me your tax money isn't being thrown away.... People are beyond over taxed for programs they'll never see the benefits of by people that hate them and only view them as a means to an end. I'm not saying to do away with government, I'm saying we've grown too much and need to trim A LOT of fat. I guarantee any private company would maintain a bridge or a road or any public structure far better than any government entity could.
Time to read 1984 bud, we're on our way there and they're not even trying to hide it... Keep eating the bugs 🦗
The taxpayer under threat of imprisonment
I understand where you're coming from, but in Bitcoin, nostr and FOSS and I have never seen it this way. With FOSS, "free as in freedom" is often used to separate open source software with terms and conditions or a cost and software that is available with no restrictions. At least that's how I see it.
Ah ok 👍
