Yep they had a peace deal framework agreed in April 2022 but Boris Johnson went in and scuppered it.
US/NATO aren’t interested in peace - they want Putin out and seem determined to do whatever it takes to achieve their own goals regardless of how many people die, how many trillions it costs, or how much bullshit they have to feed people. 
At the end of the day , the mindless masses who have made Ukraine a sizable part of their entire identity, wouldn't have been able to point to it on a map prior to Russias special military operations, and many more wouldn't have known it existed at all.
The pin wearing , flag wearing masses are all implicit warmongers, clapping like handicaps for something they have made no attempt to understand; that is to say endless death and destruction.
