If any country switches to Bitcoin today , in a matter of few years they would have given to all their citizens enough to survive many generations.. isn't that better than UBI ( assuming UBI is a country by country roll out .. its not something that entire world would implement at a press of a button :-) ..

Switching to #bitcoin is a much easier proposition for a country than implementing UBI in a Fiat system .. reason - the technology rails are already in place .. you don't need to change your tax code or anything .. whereas with UBI you will need to change the tax code upside down .. most rich would flee your country in no time .. and you would have a bunch of inflation to take care ..

Switching to btc is simple for any country .. business as usual .. people will still file taxes the way they do .. it would be lot more transparent .. rich people would flock to your country cuz of better property rights and you would see sudden rise of prosperity all around
