I am _skeptically_ optimistic simply because of the level of inefficiency that lives across all of these categories. Removing that inefficiency through rule cutting also increases the efficiency of the free market and subsequently tax revenues. There could be a positive feedback loop that actually attacks the deficit meaningfully.

I also won't be shocked at all if none of that happens. But I hope it does.
