Is there a way to build a network of trust / kernel of trust from zap-to-follow?

Obviously it can be done for free, but nobody ever had to zap, yet zap we did. 🤔 nostr:note1nv95rjghwnkqh62xyzg05rv6fcyy4thkpf2875jadg77pqtyu37q62l7tg

I like this idea. However, following someone now is simply a matter of adding a pubkey to a list. A client could add it, but someone could simply use another client to follow for free. Seems like it would need to be added on the protocol level. Maybe call it a “subscribe” and require that the one being subscribed add the pubkey of the subscriber to a “subscribers” list. Then pay relays to only send messages to those in the subscriber list?

Nah I mean it’s optional so doesn’t need protocol. No problem that other ways are free.

Keep follow for free too. Zapping is optional.

I guess I don’t get your idea then. What do you mean zap-to-follow?
