It allows you to send (zap) satoshis on notes you like. If you press and hold it allows you to set an amount which us saved and you can choose it again when you zap.

No, not that one. The one on the compose view. I think it let's you assign the recipient of zaps to a message to someone other than yourself. See the screenshot.
