I truly believe it’s the moderates working within the systems they intend to change who actually help create change. It’s not the hardline extremists. It’s not the ones who complain without working towards a solution. It’s not the ones who isolate themselves outside of society, creating silos of progress (although when brought back in, these could possibly help create greater change). Working with people whose views you don’t agree with is important. Women have had to work from within the patriarchy for thousands of years (and it’s good to have men on our side). Working through the mainstream is necessary, in order to replace those gatekeepers, and having the interpersonal skills to do so is also essential in order to be a force for change.
