President Trump announced that he will impose an additional 25% tariff on countries purchasing oil and gas from Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, a strong measure aimed at further tightening sanctions against the Chavista regime. China, a major partner of Venezuela and a large buyer of its oil, has unsurprisingly criticized the decision.
This additional 25% tariff will be applied on top of the existing tariffs, meaning that, in China's case, the country could face nearly 50% in tariffs when trading goods with the U.S.
