Opinion: Facebook should pay for the genocide its algorithms instigated against the Rohingya. Many survivors are still stuck in refugee camps because of Facebook algorithm instigated violence against them. Per whistleblowers the reason Facebook algorithms weren’t turned off despite instigating violence against the Rohingya was because Facebook didn’t want to lose user engagement i.e. they didn’t want to lose money.
