The most important lesson I took from the art of war is something I found few people valued.

He (Sun Tzu) always set up camp on the eastern face of a mountian. He used direct sunlight as a way to activate his army in the morning. If you camp on the western side your sargeants have to manually wake up troops who are trying to stay warm and comfy later into the morning.

Every house plan I have drawn since I read that had all the bedroom windows face east.

What I learned from Erwin Rommel in his book ATTACK. Is that when you are fighting in eastern Europe during winter, wrap your machine guns in cloth because they freeze up making them useless in a crises after inactivity.

What I've determined from these men is that when you are fighting man make sure you are not also fighting nature. Because fighting nature is stupid and you will always lose.
