I agree with your article despite not knowing all the aspects of why the efforts are made to curtail bitcoin mining in Norway. Surplus utilization, stranded assets, demand management, and what this article states about building/restarting new generation assets.

At this point, there is no reason a country’s power system doesn’t go “full steam” to utilise every resource toward mining.

The question in my mind is why the people of Norway let the government run the power industry, and by extension decides“winners”and “losers” for who gets electricity and who doesn’t. Or maybe I am misunderstanding.
