I never got the appeal of the Bitcoin cheerleading of Bitcoin conferences. It's all rather performative if you don't actually have anything new to say. But if you're going to cheerlead, at least do it properly and put on a show that actually gets people excited rather than being a pseudo-intellectual.

what makes you think pseudo intellectualism isn’t exciting?

It's only exciting if it's insight porn, which is only possible if you don't already get it.

Welcome to my Ted talk

I haven't been to a bitcoin conference but I see at least two benefits:

1. Bitcoin conversations on stage are recorded and if there is value in the exchange then it will be shared.

2. Networking.

It's probably hard to come up with new takes and insights that aren't already among bitcoiners. I would expect over time that the focus will be on new developments, overcoming and solving problems, combined with a general reach toward global adoption.
