Even without the government, there would still be huge inflation thanks to fractional reserve banking.

This is why we need Bitcoin. Be your own bank.

Technically not really. The loans unrepaid would go delinquent and then the bank would collapse. Government is necessary for the scheme to work because they need to be bailed out when the ponzi collapses.
