That graph really represents the ark of innovators & enthusiasts. We are not yet even into the early adopters. We are likely a group mostly into Bitcoin, tech & finance.

I was a part of the early days of: MySpace, Twitter, Vine &

Instagram etc. and it all felt the same. Although MySpace felt like a giant party from the earliest.

Nostr is still in beta. This is clearly a foundation & test bed for something MUCH bigger.

Devs will make adjustments and some week in the future a celebrity or influencer will spark a comment about Nostr & there will be an immediate flood of 2m+ new users. Everything will break, WOS will break... it will be a shit show. Then it will get fixed, hardened and we a move into the early adopters & then the pragmatists.

That future sounds interesting. But first we have to fix several things such as the costs of operating a relay on a global scale, no one has yet made a decentralized network profitable.

Can you imagine that a celebrity pushes millions of users in this lie all at once?

+1m new users

Ya know what just accrued to me... I had forgotten about banking fees. I forgot the banks used to charge me service fees to have accounts open. That they used to charge me for checks and ATM withdrawals.

Do you remember that?

Then all those fees went to $0.

Zero got normalized. Banks went deeper into fractional lending to generate profit... & here we are.

Maybe all those nominal fees were not so bad after all.

The only viable one I would say is for content creator to also make his own paid relay.

In a way the paid relay is the way for users to be able to see premium content and interact with the content creator too.

So content creator do need to spend cost of relay. But they will make a profit the more subscriber they have to their relay due to their content.

Kind of like patreon relay.

And the content creator also can work with advertiser to post ad notes on their relay if they want to make their relay free of charge to the followers.

Not sure if it make sense technically though.
