Nearly done sanding. A few of the tighter areas to finish and then I can move on to polishing.

There are more air bubbles than I would have liked and some visible swirls in the clear resin, but I’m still happy overall with how it’s turning out.

This sculpture was a pretty expensive experiment for me and the largest resin pour I’ve ever attempted, so I’m glad it worked out in the end.

Anyone who has had hands on to molding or anything like this will always see imperfection but the task itself is incredible and the imperfections are what make it worthy of attention.

Nearly every building or project I have done had that one element that I can talk about that I will always see that I could have done better but I also would have never finished the project.

Take the win.

"You might lose the battle but you win the war. " My uncle said this to me when I was learning how to finish concrete. His message was to look at the big picture and execute in grand stages until there are minute parts to address and then the whole product will look great.

Take the win.

What's measurably interesting is how people will half ass projects where there is no timed medium. It's those people who would never attempt a timed medium because they can't even manage freedom!

Yep great advice. This piece is definitely more about the overall composition anyway. I think as artists it’s just part of the job to always be dissatisfied at least in part. It pushes us to improve.

It's so cool!
