Bitcoin's average 10 minute update window ( which isn't exact because of the design), is kind of a genius move.

We are all used to having real time systems so much, adding delay, that too in minutes, in some update in what's actually a database/ledger, seems counter-intuitive.

Point where I want to get, and what I find interesting, is why can't we add this same kind back off time-wait logic into (decentralized) social media updates.

Why do we want real time updates. Lets give people 10 minutes to think about something and reply. haha

I think it was nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 who implemented a twist on this with an experimental relay where users could only post at certain times. Constraints are an interesting design space.
