You could argue the forst paragraph is a paraphrase. The swcond paragraph is less like the bible, as it's typically God who saves. All the heros in the bible have flaws

Id argue God saves by giving his people the knowledge and tools at the right time.

Moses comes to mind

I was refering to the pulp fiction quote "for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children" God certainly uses people, giving them the right skills and knowledge at the right time, such as Noah and the Judges. The salvation is attributed to God rather than the person though. Often the person God chooses doesn't want to or feels inadequate, such as Jonah or Moses initially.
