Haven't watched a news channel in over 15 years, since I moved out of my parents house. I don't even have cable tv. Just internet. Doesn't mean I don't use some of those 'news sources' and cross check and get the narrative most are trying to lean into on whatever topic.

I'd rather seek out my own news. If there's a big flash and a miss the news of the moment missile launch, so be it.
