Look good but seem pricey
For sure on the pricey side. Cost would be split 5/6 ways depending on those in our circle of support that opts in with us. One radio per household for critical incidents.
Please don't buy these for emergencies. Your money would be better spent on some lifestraws and a bucket of MREs.
Thanks for the advice. Food and water is sorted. These are simply just another option to have on hand. And good for the area we find ourselves. Redundancies, not single perfect choices.
For far less money you could have radios that work without infrastructure at all. What range are you trying to cover?
LTE range is terrible so you need a very close tower that is still on and connected to the core. Cell companies spec for 30 minutes of backup power being a big site that has high redundancy. Roaming is already a thing. If this radio worked, your cell phone would have worked. If your only use is emergency prep these are just wasting money.
Just a heads up in case you intend to use these for emergencies. These rely on cell phone towers.
Correct. Every provider’s towers. 👍🏻
