I would challenge that it was not his idea. He implemented it in a certain way. Let's see where this can go.

For a start, it probably would be helpful to copy Wikipedia - as bad as many find it in some details. There is no reason to start a wikifreedia from scratch.

Agree with the first part, as would Twain. Disagree with the second. Plenty of reasons to start these things. Experimentation and exploration, to just name two.

I don't argue to not start this project on nostr at all but the data ... Wikipedia is a giant treasure trove of indisputably valuable content that I bet will get copied in by some bot at some point anyway, just to pre-fill the pedia with something to grow from. Why re-invent all that content?

Someone can build that bot right now and transform all of Wikipedia's content into nostr events. That's not the hard part.

you could just have a hyperlink forward to the Wikipedia article of whatever article that you're looking at at the top
