prayer of the Womb

Sun,

hear my prayer.

i bask in your glory,

allow myself to transform

from your eternal heat.

we hold the creation story,

from birth to storm;

without you, i am incomplete.

Earth,

hear my prayer.

i feel your movement,

allow myself to flow

by your firm will.

we hold the amusement,

as we crash to and fro

then suddenly turn still.

Wind,

hear my prayer.

i relish in your decoration,

allow myself to ripple

in your welcomed passing.

we hold the liberation,

all that is innate and simple;

and simple is all i’m asking.

i pray

you sense my dis-ease:

my children suffer,

they whom i cannot please.

they cannot look to another,

For only i, their mother,

provide life,

and protect from strife.

Yet, they carve me out

with this knife–

bloody, thirsty–

entranced by unfamiliar doubt.

Children,

born from my essence,

have forgotten

their presence

forever is entwined

with mine.

Let the angels rise,

those who speak words of the Wise.

Let them be heard,

past the smoke of the herd;

Shake up the land,

Let wellspring burst from sand.

Nourish the infertile,

leave the mortal nonverbal;

Blow my mist abound.

Let them inhale the profound

knowledge that is deep within,

something they will confide in.

i pray,

Elements all-powerful,

Use your voices

to stretch afar,

remind them who they are:

Children of the infinite source:

of the womb,

of the mist,

of the tomb;

Do not let them stray off course,

for it is far too soon.
