Yeah, I had flat (Nike) trainers a couple times, they were good. Barefoot not an option at gym. This thread isn't going well lol. Cool Nikes dammit! 🫂

I'd lift in old school Chucks. 🤷‍♂️

Nike does have a lot of well designed products, but I'm sure that someone else can recommend something that's equivalent or better function and fit. I'm just not that guy. 😅

All good. Got some good info. Wasn't the right forum for this question lol. Might consider the chucks though, for the gym. Pairs I've had in past get a bit gross too quickly when I wear them often. Thanks

Who cares? You go to the gym to get gross. Cute can wait for outside the gym. 😝

Also, you better be wearing mostly wool socks.

That's more important than the shoe material, IMO, unless you go sockless.

Oh yeah? I'm aware they're best for outdoors and hiking, but for everyday and warm weather? Is this about microplastics?

I wear wool socks in the summer in steel toe work boots as a welder. They keep my feet dryer and virtually stink-free.

Yes. And no. Prolonged skin contact with the stuff that makes plastic, well, plastic, is not good for humans, IMO.

Same for all synthetic clothing, too.

Yeah, I sort of got on that train a while ago, buying more pure fabrics, but found it expensive and pretty limiting. Then began to wonder if maybe the idea that contact really is a big deal might be a fad-notion and overblown, and decided to wait a bit and reconsider later. You're gonna start hating me even more but I like me some fancy athleisure, their cutting edge fabrics really do look and feel nice.

Dammit beave, I didn't wanna start worrying about this again...🤔

Meh. Merino wool is amazing.

Idgaf about looks.

Plastic is poison. I'm slowly phasing it out of my life.
