the year of the linux desktop has been a meme for 20 years. i don't think that's ever going to happen. though, we have gotten arguably close with Chrome OS.

I still remember the brief but very real excitement back in the early 2000’s when Dell started selling a couple of computers with Ubuntu preinstalled. A major manufacturer recognizing Linux desktop. It was so over for Microsoft for at least 5 minutes 😂😂😂

I know, it’s funny. But Linux is winning everything else besides desktop. Desktop operating systems probably won’t matter much in a long enough time frame.
