At this point, why do we need governments, and if we don't, when are we going to start ignoring them and peacefully start doing our own thing, regardless of "their" rules?

I understand that the #bitcoin standard is the direction that we are heading towards, but at some point do we not also have to cut the cord from that with which we have all been shakle to?
