I always discarge my mag from EDC as a first thing in a range. I literally couldn't see a shit one time. That made me go with iron sights for waist carry
i haven't actually shot with it yet so I can't say but it shows me a dot and wasn't insanely expensive or anything so maybe? I mostly got it because it fit my gun and it was reasonably priced.
