I don’t think the U.S. Gov is going to buy a whole lot of bitcoin. They are going to take it.
Section 3(a) and 3(c) of the executive order states:
“Department of the Treasury that was finally forfeited as part of criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings or in satisfaction of any civil money penalty imposed by any executive department or agency (agency) and that is not needed to satisfy requirements under 31 U.S.C. 9705”
“However, the United States Government shall not acquire additional Stockpile Assets other than in connection with criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings or in satisfaction of any civil money penalty imposed by any agency without further executive or legislative action.”
The real question is, when something like executive order 6102 (that confiscated gold) comes out and everyone who bought KYC bitcoin gets a letter from the government saying “give us your bitcoin or else.” What do we do?
