A perfectly centralized system is one that one person has absolute control over. A perfectly decentralized system is one that EVERYONE contributes to.

The simpler it is, the more people there are who are able to contribute, the more decentralized it is, more or less.

Would you consider bitcoin to be simple?

I’m my mind, the consensus rules are not exactly “simple”. And yet I don’t think it would be possible to simplify the consensus rules any more than they already are. Almost every shitcoin adds complexity. The existing consensus rules are maximally simplified. In a way, this defines another schelling point: simplest set of rules that still works to solve the byzantine generals problem.

It’s about as simple as it can be to do what it needs to do.

It’s definitely simpler than fiat.
