For most politics and government (the state) are a religion. When someone expresses opposition to the state's authority or legitimacy most balk. Many are afraid. Its like trying to explain water to a fish. You see this in the reactions to J6.

You see it when people burn a flag. You see it when people call taxation theft. You see it when people question democracy. Its the same reaction I've seen from religious people when their religion is question or attacked. The same defensiveness.

I'm not advocating for anything but many years ago I had my eyes opened to the fact that I was one of these people. While I would say Jesus is my Lord and King most of my hope was placed in political power, the and the Constitution. I saw this because it was more of a focus on my thoughts than the Scriptures I said I believed.

Something to think about.

No King but Christ
