Hi Amanda I am a retired Brit living in Merida Yucatan with my wife and daughter and 3 dogs. I got into BTC in late 2021 so new to the space. 2024 will be my first halving. I have on boarded about a dozen people locally by helping them set up wallets and by gifting SATS but sadly they haven't really bought into it completely as the first question is where do i use it?

Adoption by merchants is critical to the growth of BTC in Merida and Mexico and at the moment there aren't any shops that I know of accepting it.

So far there we have orange pilled Greenbag restaurant in SanJuan, greenbag coffee in Santa Lucia, Policlinica Veterinario, a local mechanic in Jesus Carranza, an amazing handyman thst fixes almost everything you can think of, and will be onboarding a Cervesa tienda in Santiago over the next days!

if these businesses are all in Merida then that's great to hear especially the handyman!

I really enjoyed the Twentyone World video as the project really resonates with me as trying onboard the locals here has been tough sledding.
