I wouldn’t be shocked if this was in response to the criticism that publishers got for offering a physical case but inside only offered a download code. At least you get “something” out of a game-key cart. 🤷♂️

Yeah good point. I suppose these key-cards cases are more easily identifiable versus the old download-in-a-box notice that are on the current Switch cases. That and maybe the key-card allows for sharing?
So far it seems the game key carts are shareable and resellable. No word if there is a limit on how many times the cart can be used though. It’s possible a secondary market could develop over these types of games though the fact still remains no game data is actually on the cart. Great for wanting a game for a “possible” cheaper price but bad for preservation since no actual game data is on the card itself.
