But China just published their own "digital Chinese yuan" app. (similar to btc but it needs your personal info to start an account, no privacy, fuck that)
Japan is particularly behind. Yesterday, a friend who had been in Shenzhen深圳 for two years came back. She said she never used physical money in two years.
Yeah, the Alipay and Wechat Payment is very popular in the whole China.
You can easily use your phone to do "anything". Like rent a bike, pay your food or something through the qrcode everywhere. Its very convenient. xD
