Renting a Hetzner box would probably be cheaper but I don't trust them all that much. They recently kicked off some queer-ish Mastodon instance because someone reported some drawn (or generated?) loli pics.
If you can't be sure what'll get you cancelled, better own your hardware and connectivity.
