Paul did quite well in his career as a boxer-YouTuber facing older/retired fighters. Perhaps he thought he could take on a younger one.

I knew Tate as an “influencer,” but I didn't know he boxed... at least, apparently, he didn't really know how (slow reflexes, telegraphed jab, poor head movement, etc.).
