Given the level of current and future AI creepiness, it’s probably a good idea to never use your real photos anywhere online. And probably a great idea to delete every know instance of your profiles.

I wish I had known this is where things are going and wish I was wiser many years ago when I created a bunch of profiles. I regret it now and I’ll probably be working for a long time to remove them 1 by 1. Can’t remove completely, but it’s a step in the right direction.

For me, it’s way too late like my mother said I always wore my heart on my sleeve

Funnily enough, I decided this in 2011 because at FCBK. I realized the type of business model that was going to predominate on the Internet.

Your real face will also be photographed countless times in supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and so on.

I kinda doubt it. There’s no good reason to store photos of people. Most places have surveillance but even the videos are not stored forever.

Yet.

'Hey, how would you like to turn your security footage into a revenue stream to keep your store open? We'll even share marketing insights on your customers so you can maximize sales based on the data collected.'

Yeah … don’t depress me …

precisely. not to mention every other camera. you’re either already profiled in multiple databases, will be soon, or you plan on living out the remainder of your life wearing masks or hiding inside.

i think we’re past preventing this. question is what now?

This is a good idea. Sadly though facial recognition services have already scraped large portions of the internet: https://facecheck.id/

or.. instead of deleting, poison the pool with false images. still takes a lot of work though

honestly i should probably delete all my social media profiles except NOSTR

but they are addictive

Yeah. I should've known the way things were headed. It's becoming clear that not only were social media a brainwashing experiment but the plan all along was to use them to train AI. They've been doing that for about a dozen years at least. They also experimented with reinforcement learning on human subjects on these platforms.

In about 2018 I made a paper list of all the accounts I have, and I've added to it since then, but it's not complete, so yes I am going to have to carefully go through and ferret out all the accounts. My goal as of now is to be totally off social media in about 5 years except for ones like Nostr.

To get an idea of the nefarious ways this can be put to use, J6 or Israel's ongoing destruction of Hezbollah give an idea (both used AI for network tracing; Silicon Valley has not hid their involvement with the Israeli military). This stuff is already being put to use in the next generation of totalitarian police statism and high-tech warfare. And it's going to accelerate from here.
