Light mode vs dark mode
There actually isn't a consensus on which mode *on average* is better for legibility and reducing fatigue
In either case it depends on the individual, their environment and device and what they're looking at and for how long
As someone who is astigmatic and finds light mode easier to read this was interesting:
"People with astigmatism (aproximately 50% of the population) find it harder to read white text on black than black text on white. Part of this has to do with light levels: with a bright display (white background) the iris closes a bit more, decreasing the effect of the “deformed” lens; with a dark display (black background) the iris opens to receive more light and the deformation of the lens creates a much fuzzier focus at the eye."

Unfortunately images have less vibrancy and pop in light mode unless...
The Nostrmo Android client runs them almost to the edge of the screen by drawing the card edges along the top and bottom sides only.
Nostr designers please do this!
