UK mobiles have been going off repeatedly like foghorns for the past 16hrs with Gov Alerts for a pretty typical Atlantic storm. Seems overkill and feels like programming for the 'next current thing'.

My money's on a self inflicted cyberattack within the next 6 weeks prototyped on the Obama Netflix movie "Leave the World Behind."

Same in north of France, but i didn't receive alert on my phone yet

Testing system for when the nukes drop? 👀

Outside possibility yes. Gotta stop poking the bear.

I found it interesting how the red area missed out the main cities of Cardiff and Bristol. It moved from red to Amber to yellow in a very short distance. My cynical view is they are testing the alert system can cope with the 3 million it was supposedly sent to. The next red alert will be to more people. Like the are slowly stress testing before they can send to the whole population

Felt quite the imposition to me. iPhone. Settings - notifications - scroll to end - toggle off alerts

I previously turned mine off. So I was quite surprised to get one. Turned it off again

Interesting, I have turned mine off previously and didn't get one this time. Albeit not quite in the red zone

Anyone on Android you should consider switching to GrapheneOS to completely remove these kind of alerts as well as remove Google apps privileged access to you data

I'm on Graphene and just switched them off.

This is the way!

Not seen any of these. Some Christmas lights are down around here but we will rebuild
