The entire "web" should be reduced to mini interactive link previews (that would show up inside Nostr native desktop clients).

Can you explain further what you mean by this? What is a link preview in this context? If the web is not a bunch of html pages, then what are we previewing?

I think he means Open Graph Previews. A client has to load the home page and then display the resources linked in the metadata. But I already had the same thought, some news portals provide so much information that this preview is enough to read.
E.g. this german news page. I seldom click the links...
