I disagree with the balance left/right at least in my own country where the biggest publications are owned by Murdoch, Rothemere and the Barclay brothers, not the most notable left wing thinkers I can think of… but that’s like arguing over the difference between two pebbles on the beach.
Everyone has their natural biases and not all are as simple as a left/right dichotomy but it certainly makes it easier to pit two broad groups against each other. Personally I’m waaayyyy to the left of many here but I’m trying to stay away from the noise and understand people, maybe I’m some sort of hippy, I don’t know. We’re all going to hell in a handcart and I don’t have the answers.
I have two social media accounts. Here and the Fediverse, between the two I get a broad range of opinion. Both are open source protocols and I like that.
With regards to the developer being doxxed, it’s not great journalism for sure. I do think however, the more attention the writer gets, the more opportunity for them to see themselves as the victim.
Reporting them for privacy violations is within X’s terms of service, so if X had any integrity (lol) then I expect to see action taken against them.
For that reason, I’m keeping my actions to a minimum, I don’t use X. I’ll continue to use tools I think are useful.
