It's not because you can't carry it

But if you could, who would stop you? Only a good guy that can lift a gallon of gold can stop a bad guy that can lift a gallon of gold

Why can't I carry it?

People never leave gallon sized pieces of gold in easy places to carry them away from in my experience

But if you can fully lift a 162lb object about the size of a bowling ball then you can easily steal a gallon of gold
