Absolutely. Views don't mean shit if no one is engaging with your content, IMO. Replies and comments are paramount.

Not a lot of people engage with my sh!tposting gif replies but someone's got to do it!
honestly though. if you get a my man dot gif, it was 100% intentional and well thought out. 
I try to do a nice mix of both. Sometimes it's a simple emoji. Sometimes it's the best reply GIF ever, and other times there's some real thought that goes into the reply. It all depends on what I'm currently doing, how busy I am, and my mood. Some may even say it's completely random too 😆
Whenever I read a comment, the majority of the time since gif reaction pops into my head. So you're getting djmeistro's curated gif reply. Many wouldn't ever know that.

How would Nostr count views? The fact that something has hit my feed doesn't mean I've seen it..
Engagement is more valuable yes, but isn’t it just a fact that only a small percentage engage? most lurk.
I guess my point is just that with Nostr, something is more likely to not be working how you think it’s working. Or maybe it’s working better than how you think and that is a bragging point for Nostr.
For view counts, relays know who is requesting a note. Not exactly “seen” though. Maybe a paid feature to see that data rolled up 🤔
You both already have your audience to be fair. You brought your followers from Twitter, right?
There may be some overlap, but I have more followers on Nostr than on Twitter even after switching to a Proof-of-Work public key.
