I haven't been out to watch the sunset properly for a while. It was lush, just sitting quietly by myself, anticipating the potential display - in the end it wasn't exactly spectacular, though still worth the time.

A good friend of mine told me that watching sunset isn't about attending the exact moment the sun blips down the horizon in a spectacular colorful scene, it is about just being there in the moment having your peace regardless of how everything looks and whether you are a bit early or a bit late.
It is a great way to spend an hour or so, I think I'd agree with your friend on that - the beauty of a scene, or watching the moment the sun disappears is awesome, but so is just sitting there, quietly enjoying it
