I had a Nanaimo bar in Nanaimo next to the Nanaimo town sign in my 20s when I didn't have enough for the bus fare so we walked to the sign from downtown, and then kept walking to the ferry .. We had just enough funds to get back to Vancouver. It was a memorable day that I remember clearly into my 40s.
