And he's hatched! We just got back home, and we helped him get the last of the shell off. Chirping alot. There's another one that has started to peck the shell too, we'll see. #chickens #homesteading

Our chick order got rekt the other week. Over half were dead in transit and we lost a couple more in the brooder. Hatchery is sending replacements, but it's a bummer. We've never had a bad experience like this before but we'll persevere.

This is our first time hatching chickens, but my husband couldnt resist taking the last of the shell off. He seems to be fine, we just took him out of the incubator and he's under a heatlamp now. Chirping away, and just had his first sip of water.
