NIP-58 Badges are special events used to define, award and display badges in user profiles.

"Users MAY be awarded badges (but not limited to) in recognition, in gratitude, for participation, or in appreciation of a certian goal, task, or cause. Users may choose to decorate their profiles with badges for fame, noteriatry, recognition, support, etc., from a badge issuer they deem reputable."

Any user can mint a badge, set their requirements to acquire a badge, award a badge or remove a badge from a user.
