Sylvens Metayer, a Bahamian whistleblower, was shot during a Facebook Live stream inside his Florida apartment.
Metayer, known for exposing corruption in the Bahamas, recently released voice notes implicating Royal Bahamas Police Force Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson in bribery.
During his broadcast, shots grazed his face, foot, and back.
He survived and was taken to the hospital.
The shooting occurred hours after an investigation into Johnson's alleged corruption was announced.
US and UK law enforcement are assisting in the investigation, with no suspects or motives revealed yet.
