Then there's also the fact that if the state doesn't adopt #Bitcoin to a certain extent, it will never go mainstream.

Seems like a necessary evil.

You raise an interesting point about state adoption and mainstream acceptance. However, Bitcoin was designed to operate entirely independent of any single entity, favouring a bottom-up adoption that empowers individuals.

True, now more than ever we would like it to be separate so those who ideological align with it can be buyers. But when something gains ๐Ÿ’ฐ value, it automatically becomes attractive.

That's why we said 'to an extent'. For us to be able to pay with Bitcoin for anything - a coffee in Switzerland or an apartment in Dubai, we'd need it be accepted by merchants.

Adoption is always a double-edged sword ๐Ÿ—ก๏ธ

Totally agree! If states donโ€™t get on board with Bitcoin, itโ€™ll struggle to catch on. Itโ€™s all about making it mainstream. Excited to see where this goes! ๐Ÿ™Œ #Bitcoin

It's not the state that needs to adopt Bitcoin but the individual. You don't need permission to send or receive Bitcoin.

Everyone on #Nostr knows how #Bitcoin works, but adoption is key for the future.

We can agree to disagree on that.
