Is there ever going to be any meaningful BTC adoption?

I am trying to get an answer to this question for a whole but so far it has been ignored.

Where better than at #nostr

So instead of pushing it into relays again will write it again, this time with some hashtags

#bitcoin #bitcoinmaxi #satsstacking

so we stack sats - cool

we try to escape the fiat prison - even cooler

I do stack sats, but I don't spend them (zapping 23 sats does not count). I mean meaningful spending. Like grocery shopping or buying a car.

I would probably think differently where I holding a bit more of them. But I don't.

I do not spend my sats because that means losing them, Sure I could re-buy them with the fiat but:

1. if I want it fast I would likely have to do it on an official on ramp with KYC

2. however I do it I cannot pay less than 1% in transaction costs - usually more like 5-10%.

I'd rather have 5-10% sats more.

So I don't spend.

And if most of us do the same there will never be any BTC adoption.

We will be just holding more sats and feel good about it.

What do you think?

For me Bitcoin is actually more like an asset rather than a currency. So I am perfectly fine holding and not spending - in my opinion it enables you to escape inflation over the long run - Bitcoin makes saving possible again.

That it does.

But that's hardly an adoption that will change the world

It’s just a step forward in the arms race for freedom.

But probably the follow-up-effects by everyone using it as a savings-vehicle.

Price will rise. Market effects aren't bothered by prices.
