Not much of a rum drinker tbh but
As a somewhat cheaper rum for mixes I think the Diplomatic gives nice character to the cocktail and a Plantation XO is pretty smooth.
I also liked the Zafra master reserve 21.
I didn't really like the Doorlys 14 or the Centenario 25(too sweet) although a lot of people seem to like those.
If I'd ever wanted to treat myself to an expensive rum, I'd go for the Zafra 30y but atm, not worth the Bitcoin. 😉

Sounds like you have some knowledge, I'm with you on the cocktails all tho even cheaper ones are fine to mix.
The bottle I posted is more or a collectors Item from a series and is an actual investment as the price 10x over the last 10 years (~$1200) per bottle now but there are more expensive ones and a signed first edition which has no price cap as it is not for sale ;) Collectors Item as I said
