What was the hardest thing to overcome and how did you manage?

The hardest thing to have faced together would be all things financial. Our specific circumstances for a variety of reasons have meant lots of tough decisions around limited funds. Most of our married life has been spent in the fiat system and its implications. We have managed mostly because of shared goals and values like having no consumer debt, no credit cards, a bit of delayed gratification and a shit tonne of DIY. There are also no financial secrets in our relationship.

We didn’t at first. We got into a bit of strife early but managed to deal with it. That left a bitter taste in our mouths that helped with making decisions.
