I'm in a Ordinal Twitter Space at the moment and they're discussing increasing the block size. Their motives are showing.

Oh man.

I want to have a system where fees are cheap and convenient for plebs to use L1 occasionally. I think it's important.

Increasing the blocksize is the last resort, but making L1 inaccessible for plebs seems counterintuitive to what Satoshi was trying to create.

i don't mind higher fees onchain. it will come in due time. onchain will eventually be used by whales and financial institutions as a global settlement layer. us plebs will be chilling on L2 and L3 solutions.

Yeah. It seems that way.

Seems like a loss, or concession you know?

Esp when L2 options are so complicated.

I also think Core needs an upgrade to sort out the network being clogged by ordinals.

This is making the system inaccessible to those who need it the most.
